Estimating Volumes

1 gallon consumes 231 cubic inches. A good estimating fact to know.
Greg was driving up the road and we saw a large tanker truck going to a local gas station. How big was it? By watching cars next to it, I could see it was 2 to 3 times larger than a regular car. An average car is about 17 ft. The tanker was about 40 ft. long and appeared to be a bit less than 2 times a man's height. Perhaps 10 ft.
How many gallons does that tanker hold?
                                                                  23,000 gallons
How many cars will that fill up?
Assume the average car takes 20 gallons.
                                                                    1,150 cars
